Full job description

Pilot is a modern connectivity company based in New York City. We deliver fiber-optic internet and network services to businesses with no contracts, backed by a 100% uptime guarantee and 24/7 proactive support.

We're a passionate, close-knit team that believes businesses have more important things to worry about than their internet connection. Our top priority is enabling extraordinary work across all industries with connectivity solutions that are adaptive, agile, and designed with the customer in mind.

ON A TYPICAL DAY YOU’LL

  • Lead the successful execution and completion of all projects involving our fiber network.

  • Manage teams responsible for daytime and evening field execution and 24/7 field operations, ensuring customer-centric service delivery in all field work (customer installations, outage response, etc). Serve as a primary escalation point for outages and critical service issues in the field.

  • Responsible for improving the operational excellence of the construction teams through training, development, technology, and process improvement in collaboration with other teams and stakeholders.

  • Manage and foster strong relationships with all vendors (suppliers & contractors) who are necessary for Pilot to successfully operate, minimizing dependencies and maximizing economies of scale and market leverage.

  • Set, measure, and improve data collection and reporting across construction (ex work orders, installations, maintenances, outage response, and time to repair). Use data to drive decisions and improve construction team operational excellence. Surface data cross-functionally to uncover broader areas of improvement.

  • Coordinate with the team responsible for back office construction operations, including field inventory/procurement, facilities liaison, and fleet administration; collaborate with the facilities team to ensure warehouse support aligns with the company's broader goals.

  • Continually improve processes, workflows, and service quality.

  • Collaborate with leadership on the future of Pilot’s in-building and outside plant networks to provide capacity for projected growth as well as new products and services.

  • Ensure the construction team’s commitment to maintaining accurate and thorough documentation.

  • Set and improve Pilot’s quality, safety, and workmanship standards through documented policies, procedures, and KPIs. Ensure all work is completed to these standards.
