Job Duties

Mechanics (School Bus/Paratransit Maintenance Technicians Needed All Shifts Available)

(Direct Hire) Pay: $25–$37/hour + $5,000 Sign-On Bonus

Multiple Locations: Burnsville, MN and Maple Grove, MN

Schedule: Flexible AM shift and PM shift (6.00 am – 10.00 pm - Mon. – Sunday)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Bus/Automotive Mechanic to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and hands-on experience working with various vehicle types. Duties/Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on Light-Duty Gasoline Buses, Sedans, and WAV.

• Complete preventive maintenance inspections to keep our fleet safe and road-ready

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and gasoline systems

• Ensure all repairs meet DOT and safety standards

• Work independently while staying connected with the team

Knowledge/Skills

• Experience working on Light-Duty Gasoline Buses, Sedans, and WAV

• Ability to work independently and stay organized

• Strong commitment to safety and quality work

• Valid driver’s license

• DOT Health Card or willing to obtain

• Experience with Ford, GM, or fleet vehicles

• ASE certifications

• Previous school bus or transit fleet experience

Additional Requirements:

Motor Vehicle Record Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.

• No suspended, denied, or revoked license.

• No major driving conviction within the past 60 months.

• Fewer than three moving violations, at fault accidents, or a combination of the two.

• Other driving issues are reviewed case by case.

Background

• Must pass the required criminal background study. (essentially no financial or physical crimes against another person).

• Positions with rider or vulnerable adult access require DHS clearance.

• A DHS disqualification requires an approved DHS set aside.

Drug Test

• Must pass the required pre-employment drug and alcohol test when the position is safety sensitive.

• Must be in a random drug test.

DOT

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical certificate when required for the vehicles operated.
