Job Description

The Information System Security Manager (ISSM) is responsible for ensuring systems and applications comply with National, DoD, and Department of the Air Force cybersecurity requirements. This role leads Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities, assesses security risks and vulnerabilities, evaluates the security impact of system changes, and ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems throughout the system lifecycle. The ISSM works closely with technical teams and leadership to maintain authorization, support continuous monitoring, and uphold system cybersecurity posture.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience supporting RMF for DoD systems

Hands-on experience in eMASS creating, updating, and maintaining authorization packages

Experience developing and collecting security control evidence and compliance artifacts required for ATOs

Experience supporting systems through the authorization process on classified networks

Working knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and RMF documentation

Experience collaborating with engineers and system owners to resolve RMF findings and package deficiencies

Active Security+ certification (IAT II)

Active Secret clearance or higher Previous ISSM experience

Experience supporting Air Force or Naval programs

Experience with continuous monitoring and periodic assessments

CAP, CASP+, CISSP, or other advanced cybersecurity certifications

TS/SCI clearance
