This position is located at Naval Air Station Kingsville, TX, within the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Commander, Navy Region Southeast. The purpose of this position is to perform duties involving the front counter and point of sale cashier at SPINZ cafe. Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following specialized experience: General experience of 3 months OR high school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of the MWR department in order to answer customer questions and/or refer customers to the appropriate activity. Skilled in keyboarding to include operation of point of sale systems as well as desktop computers. Ability to perform basic computer operations. Ability to read and comprehend in order to adhere to published rules, regulations, standard operating procedures, checklists, and other guides. Ability to perform basic custodial tasks (e.g., sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping, dusting, etc.). Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Ability to identify customer needs, deliver expected service and/or resolve routine customer issues. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include but are not limited to: The incumbent, regardless of job assignment, is responsible to provide quality customer service to all telephone and on-site customer inquiries regarding SPINZ and related MWR issues. The incumbent, regardless of job assignment, is responsible for keeping a clean and organized work area. The incumbent is responsible for collecting and accounting for all Point of Sale (POS) transactions and prepares a DAR at the end of their shift. The incumbent is responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to, the following: Selling beer, wine, mixed drinks, soda and related beverages Collecting of fees related to the sale of café items Re-stocking coolers and freezers on an as needed basis Cleaning counter and seating areas Sweeping and mopping floor as needed and at the end of the shift Notifying the Club Operations Assistant regarding food and paper supplies that need to be re-plenished Maintaining temperature logs on freezers and refrigerators Assisting the cook as needed in preparing frozen food products utilizing a flat grill, deep fryer, or microwave oven per manufacturer's instructions and following proper food sanitation guidelines. (10% of imcumbents work duties) The incumbent, regardless of job assignment, may also be assigned tasks related to the general housekeeping of the facility including taking out the trash and recyclables, cleaning the restrooms, wiping down the counters, cleaning the lounge, and vacuuming the facility. The incumbent, regardless of job assignment, performs other related duties as assigned by management as they pertain to the smooth, clean and efficient operation of SPINZ Café. Education For applicants who do not possess 3 months of general experience, a high school diploma or equivalent may be substituted. Proof of education is required if qualifying based on education.
