Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production operations by ensuring that all operators have the parts, materials, and supplies they need to keep equipment running efficiently. This position focuses on safely moving materials throughout the facility, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, assisting with basic production tasks, and helping maintain a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary material handling resource for production operators and leads, responding quickly to their material needs.

  • Support production operations by continuously ensuring operators have the necessary parts, materials, and components at their workstations.

  • Move parts in bins, pallets, and other containers between machines, work cells, and inventory locations throughout the facility.

  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed to move materials, parts, and finished goods.

  • Perform forklift use, including safety checks and minor repairs, in accordance with company and safety standards.

  • Assist in production activities such as moving materials, running machines under direction, testing parts, washing parts, and dumping scrap or waste

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of material handling or shipping and receiving experience in a lean manufacturing environment.

  • Comfort and proficiency operating an overhead crane, with approximately 70% of the role focused on crane operation and 30% on forklift operation.

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, including performing basic safety checks and minor repairs.

Work Environment

Work in a large fabrication shop on the 3rd shift Sunday - Thursday. The environment is relaxed, with a focus on teamwork and achieving goals while enjoying the process.

This is a Permanent position based out of St Michael, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
