Full job description
This Part-Time position is with Child Development Center 702 at Fort Polk in Leesville, Louisiana. Close date has been extended. Eligible candidates applying by the initial close date of 04 August may be sent first for consideration. CYS Regular and FLEX employees (working a minimum of 15 hours) will receive a 100% discount on childcare for their first child and at least 25% for each additional child. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. 2. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner. 3. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job. 4. Requires a valid state driver's license (Requires a valid state driver's license to operate a 15 passenger vehicle OR Requires a commercial drivers license (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a 24 passenger vehicle.) To be found eligible for this position, applicants must submit a copy of a current state-issued driver's license along with proof of education at time of application. Performs minor grounds maintenance to include ensuring entrances and exits are free from debris, sidewalks are clear of ice/snow, and surfaces under playground structures are maintained according to safety requirements. Position requires the skills and knowledge to perform a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities. Ensures children and youth know how to safely evacuate the bus. Practices bus evacuation following prescribed procedures with children and youth on a monthly basis. Documents all drills in writing. Employee is responsible to notify the supervisor of obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, damaged materials, and other situations that may impact work operations. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.Drives outside in all kinds of weather in a controlled traffic environment throughout a military installation.Exposed to dirt and fumes.Also works in a kitchen setting and exposed to the possibility of cuts Education Proof of education is required at time of application. Failure to provide proof of education will result in an ineligible rating. Acceptable documents for proof of education are a High School Diploma/GED or Transcripts indicating a graduation date. Or College Transcripts, a Diploma, or Degree. To be found eligible for this position, applicants must submit a copy of a current state-issued driver's license along with proof of education at time of application.
