Full job description

Description

  • Purchase raw materials, components, supplies, and services based on business needs.

  • Review purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders.

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts with suppliers.

  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve supply issues.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.

  • Track open purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery.

  • Analyze spending trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Collaborate with operations, production, inventory, and accounting teams.

  • Evaluate supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery metrics.

  • Source and qualify new suppliers to reduce risk and improve competitiveness.

  • Assist with forecasting and demand planning initiatives.

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and purchasing-related issues.

  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier data.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred.

  • 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.

  • Experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing agreements.

  • Strong understanding of purchasing processes and inventory management principles.

  • Experience issuing and managing purchase orders.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data analysis.

  • Ability to analyze purchasing trends and identify cost reduction opportunities.

  • Strong communication and vendor management skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial purchasing experience.

  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and demand planning concepts.

  • Experience working with inventory forecasting and production schedules.

  • APICS, CPSM, or other purchasing/supply chain certifications.

  • Experience with contract negotiation and supplier performance management.
