SHEET METAL MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I

You will serve as a SHEET METAL MECHANIC SUPERVISOR I in the STRUCTURAL AND FABRICATION SHOP - CODE 920 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. You will primarily be responsible for supervising workers in the Sheet Metal trade that are performing Nuclear and Non-Nuclear sheet metal operations in support of naval ship repair, maintenance, modernization, and overhaul. You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools on a day-to-day or project-by-project basis. You will adhere to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher level supervisors. You will track and report progress on work assignments and request authority to adjust worker assignments and to use overtime, equipment, and materials to meet schedules. You will recommend changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences as necessary and make minor deviations in procedures or redirect resources in your control to overcome problems such as equipment failure, material delays, or unplanned absences.
