Speech-Language Pathologist, Year-Long Leave Location: BH-BL High School Dates: 2026-27 school year

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and caring Speech Language Pathologist to join our special education team, serving students at the high school level. The successful candidate will provide speech and language therapy services, evaluate student needs, and work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group speech-language therapy to students in accordance with IEP goals.

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of speech, language, and communication skills.

  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to student needs.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support communication development across settings.

  • Maintain accurate and timely records, progress notes, and reports.

  • Participate in CSE meetings and contribute to IEP development.

Qualifications:

  • NYS Certification as a Speech and Language Disabilities (SLD) Teacher or Speech-Language Pathologist required.

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience in school-based settings and familiarity with IEP development

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for articulation, language, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and working with students with Autism.

  • Licensure with ASHA CCC-SLP
