Securing Travel, Protecting People - At the Transportation Security Administration, you will serve in a high-stakes environment to safeguard the American way of life. To qualify for the SV-I Pay Band (equivalent to GS-13), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-H or GS-12 Pay Band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position to be filled. Specialize experience is defined as: Assist with managing and overseeing the full range of maintenance and repair activities of commercial buildings and/or multiple properties; AND Experience liaising with internal and/or external stakeholders in support of building or facility management operations; AND Managing facilities projects that include cost estimates and control of complex long-term construction projects. Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This Facilities Management Specialist position is located in the Facilities and Infrastructure Branch, Facilities and Administration (FA), Mission Support (MS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to: Assisting in managing and overseeing the full range of maintenance and repair of commercial buildings and/or multiple properties to include maintenance of the grounds, HVAC systems, plumbing, mechanical and electrical systems, elevators, automated voltage regulator systems, uninterrupted power supply equipment, generators, and the structural aspects of buildings. Assist in overseeing and preparing architectural and engineering drawings and designs, building information modeling, building codes, fire/life safety detection and suppression systems, environmental management best practices and procedures applicable to facility management, minor renovation and construction projects. Assist in developing strategic plans for short and long-term preventative and predictive maintenance and capital improvements to include the development of scopes of work and spending plan for projects and operational budgets. Provide customer service; collaborate with TSA internal and external stakeholders, and promote awareness of property management requirements and programs. Security clearance required: Secret

DHS Contracting Officer Representative (CORII) or Project Management (PMI) certification is required upon starting the position; however, COR III certification or PMII must be obtained within 12 months from employment on duty date. Certifications in this field, such as the Facilities Management Professional (FMP) or Certified Facility Manager(CFM) is helpful, but not required upon starting the position; however, CFM certification must be obtained within 12 months from employment on duty date.
