Full job description

The position(s) covered by this vacancy announcement is in the Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). For more information please see: AcqDemo This position is part of the Defense Microelectronics Activity, Defense Microelectronics Activity. The incumbent serves as Warfighter Solutions Division Electronics Technician in support of (but not limited to) Quick Reaction Engineering, Legacy Systems Sustainment, and Avionics Data Solutions. You may qualify at the NJ-04, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NJ-03 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service as listed below: Diagnosing, repairing, calibrating, installing, and/or maintaining laboratory and manufacturing equipment both as a technical expert and as a liaison between cognizant engineers and equipment vendors. Managing Hazardous Material inventories, Safety Data Sheet (SDS) records, Hazardous Waste accumulation and disposal, Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) control plans and procedures, Laboratory supply inventories, and Microelectronics System components inventory. Coordinating microelectronics manufacturing and validation efforts, such as automated printed circuit board (PCB) assembly processes, manual PCB soldering/rework processes; semiconductor wafer processes, such as dicing and grinding; microcircuit assembly processes, such as die bonding and wire bonding; and/or microelectronics system validation processes, such as X-Ray, visual microscopy, and electrical test via oscilloscopes and other signal/network analysis equipment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. As a Electronics Technician at the NJ-0856-4 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as Warfighter Solutions Division Electronics Technician in support of (but not limited to) Quick Reaction Engineering, Legacy Systems Sustainment, and Avionics Data Solutions. Performs rapid prototyping and PCB repair and assembly during projects with tight schedules. Supports back-end manufacturing PCB packaging/assembly, environmental tests, inspection and screening processes for the printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) tools Responsible for equipment maintenance, equipment calibration, HazMat duties, equipment Inventory, facilities support, ESD coordination, and technical analysis. Performs lab management duties, such as MICP equipment tracking, DRMO activities, equipment PMEL, ESD and HAZMAT compliance, and replenishes component inventory. Security clearance required: Secret
