Job Title: Sheet Metal Assembler – Aerospace
Job Description
This role focuses on precision drilling, riveting, and assembly of aerospace structural components and subassemblies. You will work from blueprints, specifications, and work orders to produce high-quality sheet metal assemblies that meet strict customer and industry requirements, using a variety of hand and power tools and applying specialized sealants.
Responsibilities

Drill, ream, and countersink holes in structural components and subassemblies according to blueprints, specifications, and work orders.

Install bolts, rivets, fasteners, bearings, and related hardware in sheet metal assemblies using appropriate tools and techniques.

Operate drill fixtures and a variety of hand tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, side cutters, and wrenches, to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately.

Perform sealant applications, including Fay and fillet sealant, and other required sealant types used in aerospace assembly processes.

Interpret and follow detailed blueprints, specifications, and work orders to ensure assemblies meet quality and customer requirements.

Use measuring tools to accurately read and interpret a 6-inch scale and verify dimensions during assembly.

Work with sheet metal materials to assemble aircraft and aerospace components in accordance with established procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools, equipment, and components with care to prevent damage.

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with power tools, hand tools, and sealants.

Stand, reach, and squat regularly throughout the shift to perform assembly tasks and access various components.
Essential Skills

3 years of experience in aircraft or aerospace manufacturing assembly, specifically in sheet metal assembly.

Proficiency in riveting and sheet metal assembly techniques used in aerospace manufacturing.

Hands-on experience with drilling, reaming, and countersinking holes in metal components.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders accurately.

Knowledge of various sealant applications used in assembly processes, including Fay and fillet sealants.

Experience using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, side cutters, and wrenches.

Experience using power tools and drill fixtures in a manufacturing or assembly environment.

Ability to accurately read and use a 6-inch scale for measurement and verification.

Physical ability to stand, reach, and squat on a regular basis throughout the shift.

Work Environment
The role is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility focused on aerospace and sheet metal assembly. Available schedules include a second shift from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday, and a weekend shift from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday. The work involves regular standing, reaching, and squatting while using hand tools, power tools, and drill fixtures around sheet metal components and assemblies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maize, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
