Job Summary

Provides clerical and administrative support to assigned area. Provides direct customer service for the department.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.

  • Initiates patient record. Files all incoming documentation. Responds promptly to requests for medical records.

  • Greets all patients and visitors. Assists with patient registration. Ensures all forms are completed by patient.

  • Maintains and updates the schedule for the area assigned. Schedules patient appointments. Completes the pre-authorization and/or pre-certification process prior to procedural appointments.

  • Answers all incoming calls. Directs callers to the appropriate person. Relays messages timely.

  • Enters, validates and reconciles charges daily for assigned area.

  • Orders, stocks and distributes supplies for assigned area.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - High School diploma or equivalent

  • Experience - Two (2) years in a clerical role. Healthcare setting experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology preferred
