1st 6am-2:30pm mon-fri

2nd 2pm-10:30pm mon - thus

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling wiring, sensors, and other components used in custom heating equipment for a wide range of applications, including food service and medical devices. You will work at various assembly stations with very small parts, spending most of your shift seated, and rely on strong attention to detail to complete repetitive tasks accurately. You will rotate duties and cross-train in different areas to broaden your skills and support a diverse, custom-to-order production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wiring and other components that go into heating equipment at various workstations.

  • Measure wire accurately and cut it to specification using rulers and other measuring tools.

  • Use prepared kits to assemble products according to work instructions and prints.

  • Apply protective coating around electric terminals to ensure safe and reliable operation.

  • Fill casings with cement as part of the sensor assembly process.

  • Handle and assemble very small parts with consistent precision and care.

  • Rotate between different assembly tasks and cross-train in multiple areas to support production needs.

  • Thread wire through peg boards to create flexible heaters in the flex/foam area.

  • Apply terminals onto materials and add a second layer to cover heaters as part of the assembly process.

  • Cure assembled heaters in ovens following established procedures.

  • Test sensors and heaters to verify proper function and quality.

  • Follow performance metrics and meet production expectations after the initial 1–2 month training period.

  • Use hand tools such as drills, pliers, wrenches, and other basic tools safely and effectively.

  • Perform basic quality checks and inspections on assembled components.

  • Read and interpret scales, rulers, and basic shop drawings to complete work accurately.

  • Support both small and large production runs, with order sizes ranging from 1 to 100 in flex/foam and 100 to 100,000 in sensor assembly.

  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all safety and quality procedures.

  • Communicate clearly about previous and current assembly processes to supervisors and team members.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.51 - $17.51/hr.
