Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Company Urgently Hiring a Slitting Machine Operator on First Shift

Location: West Caldwell, NJ
Shift: 6am-2:30pm (Monday-Friday)
Pay: $25-$27/hour ; Overtime: $37.50-$40.50/hour
Job Description

Operated slitting and rewinding equipment to process pharmaceutical films, medical tapes, and transdermal patch materials.

Set up, adjusted, and monitored machinery to ensure proper tension, alignment, and product specifications.

Performed in-process quality inspections and measured product dimensions using precision measuring instruments.

Completed production documentation, batch records, and manufacturing paperwork accurately and in compliance with company procedures.

Followed cGMP regulations, SOPs, and safety guidelines in a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Utilized cutting tools, blades, and machine components to slit materials to customer and production requirements.

Labeled, packaged, and prepared finished materials for inventory transfer and shipment.

Maintained a clean and organized work area while supporting continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives.

Assisted with troubleshooting equipment issues and minimizing downtime to meet production goals.
Job Requirements

Small department of three people, so teamwork and dependable attendance are very important.

Slitting experience is preferred because the role requires strong safety awareness around cutting equipment, blades, machine guarding, and material handling.

Candidates should be comfortable following written procedures, batch records, SOPs, and safety requirements.

Basic math skills are needed, including measuring, counting, calculating quantities, and checking work for accuracy.

Understanding or willingness to learn the metric system is important for measurements and production documentation.

The work requires attention to detail, good housekeeping, proper labeling, and consistent documentation.

Reliability is one of the most important success factors because the team is small and each person’s attendance directly affects production coverage.

While we prefer pharma manufacturing experience, printing press, paper mill or sheet metal cutting machine experience can sometimes translate.

This is a Permanent position based out of Caldwell, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
