Full job description
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent serves as an Supervisory Human Resources Specialist in the Workforce Accountability & Relations Division of the Defense Civilian Personnel Advisory Service (DCPAS). You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Expert experience in applying a broad range of advanced Human Resources Accountability practices, including expert experience consulting and providing guidance as a technical expert in staffing and recruitment functions. Expert experience in applying HR regulations, principles, precedents; conducting broad assessments of HR practices for compliance relations laws; preparing legally sound reviews documents highlighting discrepancies; and developing recommended or required corrective actions. Expert experience in analyzing and solving complex and sensitive problems and issues, in order to resolve conflicting laws or other requirements involving vague and untested areas of case laws, where policy decisions and case strategy guidance have impact across the Department. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist at the GS-0201-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Supervise team of approximately 5 senior GS-0201-14 Human Resources Specialists. Responsible for the conduct of Department-wide HR assessments/studies. Advise senior Department leadership on significant and far-reaching HR matters. Coordinates with respective partners within and external to the Department on relevant HR matters, and establishes/maintains cooperative relationships. Routinely responds to Department and higher level inquires using approved package requirements in an extremely expeditious manner. Security clearance required: Secret
